Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the landscape. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion of cooking and food early on. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy, which has influenced her cooking style. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children who are facing difficulties. She also serves as a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she promotes juvenile diabetes awareness. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her experiences in the food world when she is in the United States for various roles such as speaker and mentor. Anne, throughout her entire cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to be able to share her passion for the food industry with people.
