Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora (British singer-songwriter) is her name. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter and singer who was born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. She is the granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. Her family moved to the United Kingdom at age 1. She grew up in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and afterward, St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at an early age. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision Your Country needs You (BBC One), she was chosen to represent the UK at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She then opted out of the competition after a number of episodes, as she felt that the stage wasn't set. In 2007 Ora got her first music album when she performed on Craig David's track titled "Awkward" and again in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. For this track, she also appears in the music video. Ora began to sing in bars across London. Roc Nation was informed by an A&R representative about Ora in the year 2009 just a few days after Ora was on her way to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video of "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was impressed by Ora's talent and quickly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was featured in a commercial promoting Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik owned a bar and she began her singing career from that same pub. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her character. She also cites her father, Besnik, who was a pub owner. Kate Moss, Ed Sheeran and their pals.
