Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer with Irish origin was a well-known celebrity. The passionate, fiery role she played in a variety of American films is what brought attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her natural beauty and glamour was a huge hit and she was popularly known as the 'Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her roles onscreen were a reflection of her brave, strong spirit. She fought for respect and survival in the male-dominated culture. She was always a "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her respect or reputation to land the roles she wanted through merit. She was a strong advocate for women in film and television, and gained a large following as a result. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. It is an honest and honest story of her life and the difficulties she encountered while climbing the ladder to success. She was an adventurous woman who didn't hesitate in performing her own stunts. She appeared as an actress in over 60 films throughout the years and was a pillar of fame internationally. After leaving Parra She remarried in the year 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former brigadier, former chief pilot, and a pioneer of transatlantic aviation, to name some of the accomplishments. O'Hara retired just a few years after their marriage. But her joy was fleeting since Blair passed away in a tragic plane crash in the year 1978. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer the same year and underwent an immediate operation. She was capable of recovering. Over the next few years, her health deteriorated and she was diagnosed with six heart attacks, short-term memory loss as well as diabetes mellitus type 2. On October 24, 2015, O'Hara peacefully expired in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at 95.
